SOLVE Initiative Project CoordinatorClaudia Wiesinger

Claudia holds a Master’s degree in Literary and Cultural Studies from the University of Salzburg and a Master’s degree in Applied Translation Studies from the University of Leeds (UK). She is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Vienna Centre for Translation Studies and a graduate research assistant at the HAITrans (Human and Artificial Intelligence in Translation) research group. Her main research interest is crisis communication and the role of translation, and as such, her doctoral project investigates the applications of language technologies in crisis translation with the aim of facilitating the work of professional and ad hoc

translators. On top of her academic career, she works as a freelance translator in the language combination English-German.

Claudia’s interest in joining iSCAN is connected to her own research, her participation in the SOLVE2021 conference as a rapporteur, as well as her former role as a Research Fellow in the Regional Academy on the United Nations. As one of the SOLVE Coordinators, she is keen on learning more about conflict analysis and management while supporting those who are making valuable contributions to a conflict-free world.
