Dr. C.A. Mumma-Martinon is a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Dr. Mumma earned her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Leipzig, Germany, with a focus in International Conflict Management of Transnational Waters.

She earned her Master’s in Diplomacy and International Studies as well as Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomacy and International Relations.

She has taught at the University of Nairobi, European Peace University, the Institute of Peace Studies and International Relations, the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies, the National Defense College and the National Staff College, and the National Intelligence Academy, among others. She has worked with Total Exploration and Production Kenya as a Social Affairs Manager working closely with communities in the Coastal regions of Kenya and being a link between the

Government and different oil companies in Kenya. Seconded by the United Nations to the International Peace Support Training Centre, Dr. Mumma worked as the Head of Applied Research in the Department of Peace and Security Research, as a Curriculum Development Officer and a Conflict Prevention Analyst.

Here she trained peacekeepers and personnel from different peace organizations and regional bodies in Africa and specifically the Eastern African region.  Thereafter, she worked with the Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission Kenya (TJRC) as the Resident Consultant for reconciliation. She is the author of several articles, occasional papers, book chapters and editor of different Newsletters.  She regularly inducts Kenyan diplomats. For the last ten years, she has been closely engaged in academic research and the supervision of Ph.D. and Master’s students in different Universities. She is married with a family.
